Is the ICO yours? It sure is a beautiful pristine machine.
I have never seen a Hermes any model with Vogue type face. I thought that was unique to Royal.
Nice thing about working on a Hermes is the great engineering. Bad thing about giving a 3000 a thorough cleaning is the need to remove the carriage to remove the housing.
Bill - i am the proud owner of the ico. it was cleaned/repaired before i bought it and ive no complaints about it, although i would like to tighten up the backspace a bit so its more responsive. the misalignment - i actually have found i like. as for the hermes 3000, ive heard of the pain it takes to clean and repair this machine - one day ill be brave enough to do it!
Richard - right you are about techno. im so rusty with this typewriter stuff that i flubbed it up and meant techno but instead wrote out vogue without a second thought. i love this ico - its so small, like my little one - and both irresistible to the females :)

ReplyDeleteThat's not Vogue, it's what's commonly called techno, unless my eyes deceive me. Vogue is more rounded.
If you go out with a baby AND an Olivetti ICO, you will have women all over you. ;)
